PRINCIPLE

Flow controllers for controlled dosing in lubrication systems

Flow controllers divide and meter the lubricant flow precisely across the points of a lubrication system, so each point receives a defined, controlled quantity. Built as a compact distributor block, the flow controller takes the incoming oil and splits it into individually adjustable outlets — turning a single supply line into a network of metered points. This makes it the right choice wherever several points need their own, exactly set flow rate, and it pairs naturally with a progressive distributor and downstream flow sensors for full flow control and monitoring. Precise, individually adjustable flow to each point One supply line divided into many metered outlets Robust extruded-aluminium block for industrial duty Wide operating temperature range Ideal with progressive distribution and flow monitoring Flow controllers sit between the supply line and the lubrication points, and they work best as part of a monitored circuit. Downstream flow sensors confirm that the set flow actually reaches each point, and their signals can be reported to a control unit such as the VIP5 or the FACT Controller so that a deviation is detected automatically. In operation, the controllers are robust and low-maintenance: routine care is limited to checking the set flow values, keeping the connections tight and the medium clean, and the usual inspection of the lubrication lines. Because each outlet is individually adjustable, the system can be re-balanced quickly if a machine is modified or points are added — without replacing the controller block.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about flow controllers

What does a flow controller do?
It divides and meters the lubricant flow precisely across the points of a lubrication system, so each point receives a defined, individually adjustable quantity from a single supply line.
How many points can it supply?
Per the datasheet, 1 to 12 outlets, each with an adjustable flow, at up to 15 bar and 1.6 l/min per point.
What temperature range and medium does it handle?
An operating range of −30 °C to +80 °C, with oil of 60–125 cSt (at 40 °C); the body is an extruded aluminium light-metal profile.
Where are flow controllers used?
In oil-flow and circulating-oil lubrication on guides, bearings and gears in metalworking, large machinery and general industry.
How do they fit into a lubrication system?
They split one supply line into metered outlets and work together with progressive distribution and downstream flow sensors for full flow control and monitoring.
