The product family at a glance

The lubricant is the active medium of every lubrication system — its suitability decides the wear protection and service life of the lubricated components. DropsA's lubricants range covers the three pillars of industrial lubrication: industrial oils, greases and cutting oils for near-dry machining. Smart Oil 2 is a mineral oil matched to automatic central oil lubrication, forming a load-bearing film on bearings, guides and sliding surfaces. POLAR GREASE (NLGI 2) is a grease for bearings, joints and guides with good adhesion, staying at the point and forming a durable film. For machining, the near-dry machining programme replaces flood coolant with a minimal oil aerosol.

Oil or grease – the fundamental choice

Oil flows freely and is used where a moving, separating film is needed — in circulating-oil systems and on guides and bearings supplied by a central oil system. Grease, a base oil held in place by a thickener, stays at the point and also helps seal it, making it the choice for bearings and joints that are hard to reach or exposed to contamination. The right viscosity (for oil) or NLGI class (for grease) is chosen by the operating temperature, the speed and load, and the lubrication system — and must be compatible with the pump and metering components.
