MaXtreme minimum quantity lubrication

Micro-aerosol processing system

Efficient system for minimal quantity lubrication – LP/HP nozzles & vortex

Product description & specifications

MaXtreme is an innovative machining system with minimal quantity lubrication based on micro-aerosol technology. Ideal for applications with the highest demands on precision, efficiency and environmental friendliness.

  • ND nozzle: min. Ø 2 mm at 6 bar – 7000 Nl/h (247 cfh)
  • HD nozzle: min. Ø 0.8 mm at 20 bar – 3500 Nl/h (123 cfh)
  • Tank capacity: 2 liters (0.50 gallons)
  • Air supply hose: Ø 12 mm (0.47 inches)
  • Pipe used: Ø 12-16 mm (0.47-0.6 inches)
  • Aerosol outlets: 1 to 3

MaXtreme (2 Vortex)

  • Airflow: 3500-6500 Nl/h (124-230 cfh)
  • Vortex nominal pressure: 6 bar (87 PSI)
  • High pressure vortex: 20 bar (290 PSI)
  • Oil flow: up to 220 ml/h (0.008 cfh)
  • Recommended lubricant: MaXtreme OIL – vegetable aerosol oil in 3 tank sizes

How MaXtreme micro-aerosol lubrication works

MaXtreme creates a fine oil-air aerosol and directs it precisely into the machining zone. Instead of flooding the process with large quantities of cutting fluid, only a minimal, exactly metered amount of oil is delivered as an aerosol to the tool and workpiece. Two nozzle options cover different requirements — a low-pressure nozzle (LP, min. Ø 2 mm at 6 bar) and a high-pressure nozzle (HP, min. Ø 0.8 mm at 20 bar) — and depending on the version one or two vortex stages work at 6 bar or 20 bar. Because the aerosol is drawn almost entirely into the cutting process, MaXtreme keeps the workpiece, chips and machine largely dry. It is part of DropsA's minimum quantity lubrication range.

Frequently asked questions about MaXtreme

What is MaXtreme used for?
It is a micro-aerosol minimum quantity lubrication system that delivers a minimal, precisely metered oil aerosol to the machining zone instead of flood coolant.
What nozzle options are available?
A low-pressure nozzle (LP, min. Ø 2 mm at 6 bar) and a high-pressure nozzle (HP, min. Ø 0.8 mm at 20 bar), to suit the tool and cutting conditions.
How many vortex stages does it use?
Depending on the version, one or two vortex stages working at 6 bar or 20 bar.
Why does it keep the machine dry?
Because the aerosol is drawn almost entirely into the cutting process, the workpiece, chips and machine stay largely dry.
Where is MaXtreme used?
In metalworking — drilling, milling, turning and sawing — wherever near-dry machining can replace flood coolant.
