Indicator for SMX

Robust cycle indicator specifically for SMX distributors, which provides a clear visual signal with every lubrication cycle.

PRINCIPLE

Cycle indicators – visual lubrication-cycle control

Cycle indicators give a clear, visual confirmation that a lubrication cycle has taken place. Mounted on the distributor, the indicator moves with every cycle of the system, so operators and service staff can see at a glance — without instruments — that the progressive distributor is working and lubricant is being delivered. For SMX distributors in particular, a dedicated indicator provides a robust, unmistakable signal on each cycle, making routine checks fast and reliable. As the distributor pistons move through their cycle, they drive the indicator pin, which extends and retracts in time with the lubrication. A visible movement on each cycle confirms that the distributor is cycling; a pin that stays still is an immediate sign that the cycle has stopped — and, because each section of a progressive distributor depends on the next, a stalled indicator points straight to a fault. This makes the cycle indicator a simple but powerful diagnostic aid. Immediate visual confirmation of each lubrication cycle No power required — simple and robust A stalled indicator points directly to a fault Dedicated version for SMX distributors Speeds up commissioning and routine checks Cycle indicators give a local visual check, and where the cycle also has to be logged or alarmed they are complemented by electronic cycle sensors feeding a control unit such as the VIP5 . The combination provides both an at-a-glance signal and an automatic record of the lubrication cycles. The indicator is selected to match the distributor type — for example the dedicated indicator for SMX distributors. It is essentially maintenance-free; care is limited to keeping it visible and clean and to the usual inspection of the distributor and lines. The indicator itself makes any maintenance need obvious, since it stops moving when the cycle does.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the cycle indicator

What does a cycle indicator do?
It gives a visual confirmation that a lubrication cycle has taken place, moving with every cycle of the distributor so the system can be checked at a glance.
How does it help with fault finding?
If the indicator stops moving, the cycle has stalled — and because progressive distributors are sequential, a stalled indicator points directly to where the fault is.
Is there a version for SMX distributors?
Yes. A dedicated cycle indicator for SMX distributors provides a robust, unmistakable signal on each cycle.
Does it need power?
No. The cycle indicator is mechanical and requires no power, which makes it simple and robust.
When should I add a cycle sensor as well?
When the cycle also needs to be logged or alarmed automatically — an electronic cycle sensor feeding a control unit such as the VIP5 complements the visual indicator.
