Pressure Filters

High-pressure filters (pressure filters) protect the components of a lubrication or hydraulic system from particle contamination in the pressurised line. Installed downstream of the pump , the pressure filter cleans the lubricant before it reaches sensitive distributors, metering valves and bearings, capturing the particles that would otherwise cause wear, blockages and premature failure

PRINCIPLE

High-pressure filters for lubrication systems

High-pressure filters (pressure filters) protect the components of a lubrication or hydraulic system from particle contamination in the pressurised line. Installed downstream of the pump , the pressure filter cleans the lubricant before it reaches sensitive distributors, metering valves and bearings, capturing the particles that would otherwise cause wear, blockages and premature failure. Because it works under full system pressure, it keeps the oil clean exactly where contamination does the most damage. The pressure filter is part of DropsA's filtration range that keeps lubrication circuits reliable. The filter element sits in the pressurised line and forces the lubricant through a fine medium that retains particles above a defined size. Clean oil passes on to the system while contamination is held in the element, which is replaced when it reaches its capacity. By placing the filtration after the pump and before the precision components, the pressure filter ensures that what reaches the metering elements and bearings is clean, protecting the most vulnerable and valuable parts of the circuit. Cleans the lubricant under full system pressure Protects distributors, metering valves and bearings from particles Prevents wear, blockages and premature failure Defined filtration rating to suit the system's clearances Replaceable element for straightforward servicing The right pressure filter is selected by the system pressure, the flow rate, the connection and — crucially — the required filtration rating, which is matched to the clearances of the components being protected. It complements magnetic filtration such as the MAGNOM® filter : where the MAGNOM® removes fine ferrous contamination, the pressure filter retains the broader particle load. In service, the filter element is replaced on a routine interval or when a clogging indication appears.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about high-pressure filters

What does a pressure filter do?
It cleans the lubricant in the pressurised line, downstream of the pump, capturing particles before they reach distributors, metering valves and bearings.
Where is it installed?
After the pump and before the precision components, so that the oil reaching the metering elements and bearings is clean.
Why is filtration rating important?
The rating is matched to the clearances of the protected components; the finer the clearances, the finer the required filtration.
How does it relate to the MAGNOM® filter?
They complement each other — the MAGNOM® removes fine ferrous contamination magnetically, while the pressure filter retains the broader particle load in its element.
How is the filter maintained?
The replaceable element is changed on a routine interval or when a clogging indication appears.
