Filter solutions from DropsA – For lasting cleanliness and optimal lubrication.

Filters for clean lubrication and hydraulic systems

Clean oils and greases are the precondition for the reliable function of a lubrication system: particles in the lubricant can clog fine metering cross-sections, damage sealing faces and accelerate wear at the bearings. Filters keep the lubricant clean, protecting the metering elements, distributors and components that depend on it. DropsA offers complementary filtration technologies — magnetic and barrier — so the right method, or a combination, can be matched to the contamination present. Keeping the oil clean is one of the simplest and most effective ways to extend the life of a lubrication or hydraulic system.

Filter technologies at a glance

The MAGNOM® magnetic filter removes ferrous particles and magnetite — including the fine wear debris that passes straight through mesh filters — and is cleanable rather than disposable. The high-pressure filter retains the broader particle load in a replaceable element under full system pressure, protecting the precision components downstream of the pump. Used together, they cover both fine ferrous contamination and general particulate.

Applications & industries

Filters are used in oil and hydraulic lubrication across metalworking and machine building, large machinery and heavy industry — wherever fine metering elements and high-value components must be protected from particle contamination. They are essential on systems with tight clearances, where even small particles can cause blockages or wear.

Your advantages

Protect metering elements, distributors and bearings from particles
Magnetic and barrier technologies — used singly or combined
MAGNOM® captures fine ferrous debris; cleanable, no element to replace
Pressure filter retains the broader particle load under full pressure
Extend the life of the lubricant and the components

Selection guidance

The right filter is selected by the type of contamination, the flow rate, the system pressure and — for barrier filters — the filtration rating, which is matched to the clearances of the protected components. Where fine iron is the problem, the magnetic MAGNOM® is the answer; where general particulate must be removed, the pressure filter is used; in heavily contaminated systems the two are combined. The filter works alongside the pump and clean oil to keep the circuit reliable.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about filters

Why filter the lubricant?
Particles in the oil or grease can clog fine metering cross-sections, damage sealing faces and accelerate bearing wear; filtering keeps the lubricant clean and the system reliable.
What is the difference between the filter types?
The MAGNOM® magnetic filter removes fine ferrous particles magnetically and is cleanable; the pressure filter retains the broader particle load in a replaceable element under full pressure.
Can the filters be combined?
Yes. In heavily contaminated systems the MAGNOM® removes the ferrous load that would otherwise clog a barrier filter, so the two complement each other.
Why does filtration rating matter?
For barrier filters, the rating is matched to the clearances of the protected components — the finer the clearances, the finer the required filtration.
How is the right filter selected?
By the type of contamination, the flow rate, the system pressure and the filtration rating required.
