PRINCIPLE

Pressurised grease reservoir

The pressurised grease reservoir holds a supply of grease under pressure, ready to be delivered to the lubrication points of a system. Grease, unlike oil, does not flow on its own; keeping the reservoir pressurised ensures that grease is always presented to the pump or distribution system without air gaps or starvation, even as the level drops. This makes the pressurised grease reservoir a reliable supply unit for grease-based central and multi-point lubrication, and a robust part of DropsA's reservoirs and accessories range. The grease in the reservoir is kept under pressure — for example by a follower plate or a pressurising arrangement — so that it is continuously urged toward the outlet. As the system draws grease, the pressure keeps the supply gap-free, preventing the air pockets that would otherwise cause a pump to lose prime or a line to run dry. When the reservoir is refilled, the same pressurising arrangement re-establishes a solid, air-free column of grease. Keeps grease pressurised and ready for reliable delivery Prevents air gaps, loss of prime and dry running Suits stiff greases that do not flow on their own Reliable supply for central and multi-point grease systems Robust construction for industrial duty The reservoir is selected by the capacity required, the grease consistency (NLGI class) and the connection to the pump or system. A larger reservoir extends the interval between refills, and the pressurising arrangement is matched to the grease stiffness. In service it is low-maintenance: routine care is limited to refilling and to the usual inspection of the supply line and connections.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the pressurised grease reservoir

What is a pressurised grease reservoir for?
It holds a supply of grease under pressure so that grease is always presented to the pump or distribution system without air gaps or starvation, even as the level drops.
Why pressurise the grease?
Grease does not flow on its own; pressurising it keeps the supply gap-free and prevents the air pockets that cause a pump to lose prime or a line to run dry.
Which greases are suitable?
The reservoir suits a range of greases, including stiffer consistencies; the pressurising arrangement is matched to the grease so that supply stays reliable.
Where is it used?
In grease-based central and multi-point lubrication across metalworking, mobile equipment and general industry.
How is it maintained?
It is low-maintenance; care is limited to refilling and to the usual inspection of the supply line and connections.
