The right one dosage quantity decides on lifespan and efficiency. Here is a tried and tested process – plus Template for documentation.
1) Data acquisition List of lubrication points (type, location, manufacturer information) Operating profile (shifts, temperatures, loads) Environment (dust/moisture/hygiene requirements) 2) Medium selection Oil: Viscosity by temperature/speed Grease: NLGI 00-2 depending on dosing element/temperature Optional H1 for areas close to food 3) Distribution principle Single/dual line for large networks/harsh environments; Progressive for fixed quantities & clear monitoring. 4) Quantity & Interval If manufacturer values are available → accept and check Without data: start conservatively, over Pressure/Stroke/Flow and fine-tune component temperature Adjust intervals to load/temperature 5) Monitoring & fine-tuning Log trend data (pressure, stroke pulses, flow) in the HMI/PLC; Define limits for OK/Warning/Alarm. Are there guideline values without manufacturer data
Only useful as a starting point. The final setting should always be verified via monitoring/inspection.
